Mark Ancheta is a passionate game creator, and producer, known for his creativity and entrepreneurial spirit in the gaming industry. After graduating from Campus Ubisoft as a level designer in 2009, he joined Ubisoft, contributing as a game designer to popular titles like Rayman Origins and Rayman Legends across mobile and console platforms.
In 2015, Mark co-founded Thewallgames, where he developed z7am, a mobile game inspired by local culture that became a success in the MENA region. He later became COO of the World Game Federation, playing a key role in advancing eSports in Africa.
In 2018, Mark founded Altplay, a fully remote UK-based game development studio specializing in hybrid casual and hyper-casual games. Altplay has developed over 100 hyper/Hybrid-casual games, with DIY Doll Makeover gathering around +25 million downloads and being published by Crazy Labs.
Mark also co-founded the Moroccan Game Developers Association in 2012, aimed at promoting game development in Morocco. His efforts in strengthening the game development community in the region led to his recognition as one of GameIndustry.biz’s Top 100 Game Changers in 2020.
Mark was invited by the U.S. Embassy to participate in the prestigious International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) for his contribution to gamifying education in Morocco, a program that has seen previous participants such as New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern.
A dedicated eSports competitor, Mark reached the semi-finals in Street Fighter 6 at ESGS Philippines 2023, showcasing his passion for fighting games.
